Who needs patterns anyway?

MADE has a totally awesome tutorial for making your own pattern for kids pants and then freezer paper stenciling on them. For Thanksgiving we are going to Disneyland with the Corriveau/Bennett Clan so I thought it was a good excuse to try it out and make these little outfits for Emmie - one for each day! I think they turned out great! I was only planning on making the pants...and then I saw these shirts at Target on clearance and thought "gee I wish they had long sleeves" so I bought them and had Ceri show me how to add the long sleeves, then painted on the design. crafty huh? I'm in the mode!

This is the Thanksgiving outfit...(the words go down the back of the left leg) I love the pie!

Love it!

It's a long story about the crushed velvet pants...It turned out okay though...we went with a Monster's inc theme to tie them in...they are her "Sully Pants" hahaha

If you'd like to make some pants yourself with a fun custom design go to the tutorial section on my MADE link...it's awesome!

Crazy's okay sometimes!

So the Twilight movie came out on Friday...was I there for the Midnight showing? no...darn work the next day. I've never been to a midnight showing of a movie (I don't enjoy being sleep deprived) but for Twilight I might have considered it if I didn't have to be at work by 8 the next day (a sleepy Mrs. Coleman is a grouchy/impatient Mrs. Coleman). So no midnight showing but I was there standing in line for 3 hours for the 8:35 showing Friday Night. Dana and I got there at 5:00 ish and were the first in line....totally rad. We were the only ones in line for a whole hour. Did I feel silly? A little...but we broke out the Uno Card and made friends with the security guard so it was all good - if any one wanted to make fun of us we knew who to go to! Ceri joined us after she was done at work and we had some serious girl bonding time...awesome.

Dana, Ceri, and I in our custom made Twilight shirts! I have to say I'm impressed by how well they turned out! Good Work Ceri!
Dana and I ...first in line...again...totally rad.

So how did I like the movie you ask? Personally I thought it ROCKED! I'm not one to go on and on about how much better the book is than the movie (isn't that always just a given?) but I think it was well done. Who needs to pick a part something like Twilight. It's like the book...if you think about it too much you'll end up not liking it...It's best just to sit back and thoroughly enjoy the ride...and that's exactly what I did!

Get your Craft on!

Ceri and I are feeling exceptionally crafty these days and would love to spread the craftiness around! Therefor... we would like to invite anyone who would like to get crafty with us to my place for a craft night! I saw this on a friends blog a few weeks back and have been wanting to make one ever since! The night will be Tuesday, December 2 at 6:30. Email me at mattandelyse@gmail.com or post a comment if you're interested and would like some more info!

A day to DYE for!

I love blogs...I love that there is so many tutorials and crafting ideas out there. I could blog surf forever looking at all the ideas. One of my favorite finds (actually Ceri found it first) completely opened my eyes to the beauty of Dyes. I was going to spend at least $40 and countless hours buying fabric and figuring out how to sew cushion covers but then....I read a blog....$8 bucks and an easy hour later....tahda! From disgusting stained lavender to beautiful brown.....

Thank you Mr. Rit

Thank you tub and plunger (the only poking device I didn't mind staining brown)

I didn't dye the arm covers...so this is the color before...note the stains on the fabric...and this is after washing it! gross!)
Turned out pretty darn good if you ask me!

Emmie Update:
This is my poor sick baby...look at those rosy cheeks! Luckily the antibiotics are helping her feel a lot better...the ear infection and nose gunk are on the mend!

My Big Brother's Birthday

Adam's birthday was last Sunday (I know...I know...it's been a long time since I've blogged...computer trouble) We celebrated by making (by request) Grandma Tenney's famous flat stacked enchiladas AND Grandma Tenney's carrot salad (I made that one and I have to say...it was IDENTICAL...Adam may have doubted my ability but I surprised him....). Can you tell the boy loves his Grandma's cooking? The evening was filled with good food...fun presents...and Myth Busters Mcgyver episodes - the boys were in heaven! Heres to you Adam! Happy 27th old man! Love You!

Other October Fun
A few Sunday's ago I made a "Meal in a Pumpkin" it was delicious. Afterwords we had a little camera fun....hilarious. For a good time break out your camera, loosen your cheeks and shake your head real fast. while shaking have someone snap the picture. hahaha...check out the results!

So precious
Every once and a while Emmie will wake up cranky needing more sleep so Matt will bring her into bed with us...they are so sweet snuggling next to each other....precious... (it's about the only time of day Emmie feels snuggly...we take what we can get!)
