Blessing #4 - Facebook

So I'm really not a huge Facebooker....I'm hardly on it and have never posted anything in the "what are you doing right now" thing. But I love the idea of finding people that you have lost contact with. I didn't have an account until my best friend, Heidi, found our really great frieind Demarie on it. We had been looking for her everywere!!! So...long story short we found eachother and went out to lunch and had the greatest time catching up! Yeah for Facebook and Yeah to keeping in touch with people you love. Wish you could have been there Hyde!

This is Demarie's adorable son, Maddox. What a cutie huh?

And then this is just so cute....Emmie LOVES her Baby Signing Time! She signs eat, dog, cat, and all done....It's really neat - I recommend the DVD - Emmie loves signing along to the songs!

Elyse and the no good very bad (work) day

Every one has days like today...it was just time for me to have my turn...

I started out like this:On my way to work I had a close call that could have ended like this:(the car in front of me lost control and spun a 180...luckliy he was far enough a head of me that I was able to stop in time...scary)

Got to work and got a note from a Parent that made me feel like this:and then because I'm wasn't feeling good it turned into this:
My students were acting like this:

During my lunch break I went and got this:That's some good stuff!

The day was really looking up at this point...my students were working great...my sinus junk was suppressed... and then when I thought I was going to leave work on a high note I was asked this:
Is the holiday weight that obvious??? apparently so....

It's a good thing I had a nice dinner with our neighbors to look forward to after work...The day (after work) really turned out nice....Thank heavens!

Blessing #3 - Days like today

Today was so nice. I went to work and the morning was so calm. All of my students were busy working and being the most perfect Montessori children. Then to top it off Emmie got to spend some time with me in class while My mom (the best nanny EVER) had a meeting at the school. Can I just say that Emmie is going to love going to Adobe next year. She worked at her rug for at least 45 minutes screwing and unscrewing tops to bottles and other containers. ahhh...I love days like today!

To The Snow!

In Washington Mom and Dad Coleman bought Emmie a nice snow coat and snow shoes because of all the snow they had had...then when we got there it had all melted. Since then we have been wanting to go north...Friday afternoon we decided to so we packed our bags and hopped in the Corriveau van with Mom and Dad Corriveau and the Goughs.
Emmie wasn't so sure about the snow at first

Sledding...a photo/video journal

Mom and Emmie taking in all the cool sledding

Emmie's favorite part was the black rocks

After our snow adventure in Flagstaff we went to spend Saturday night in Oak Creek Canyon
Emmie on the drive...happy as can be with her wipe and water bottle

Taking a mini hike to go skip some rocks at our favorite spot!

Back at the cabin...maxin' and relaxin'

Blessings

So...my good friend Kamarah did the coolest thing all last year...she kept a blessing journal on her blog and blogged each week about something that blessed her and her family's life. I have really enjoyed reading hers and decided that I wanted to try it out! I have two for this week to catch up!

Blessing #1 - Hiding Places

Emmie has the greatest time hiding her toys and other things she thinks are really neat...and Matt and I have a great time finding them unexpectedly. It totally brightens my day when I find a sock in the pot I want to cook dinner in...or a zebra hiding in the pantry.

Blessing #2 - Wet towels

Why spend money on toys that flash or sing when you have a good old paper towel? first it's great for sucking on...then it makes for a great hat...then it shreds so nicely...and when all that it done you can use the little pieces to put between your toes! When Emmie gets restless at church all we have to do is give her a wipe and she is good to go...not only does she entertain her self but also the families sitting in the pews behind us! I'm going to be so sad when the novelty of a simple wet towel is no longer entertaining for her!

Red eyes and Fluff.

Yesterday my parents were awesome (as always) and babysat Emmie so Matt and I could go on a double date with Ceri and John. We went out to dinner and then to Harkins were we saw "The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button". It was awesome. Don't forget your Kleenex - but it is well worth the three hours and red eyes afterwards. It's one of those that stick with you for a while...I've been thinking about different parts all day. I left the theater feeling good - despite it being sad.
On a fluffier note....Ceri and I just discovered our new favorite tween movie...It has the perfect amount of eighties awesomeness mixed in with some totally rad dance moves and a touch of rebelious tween romance....and who could resist classics like Helen Hunt and Sarah Jessica Parker....pre-A list....nice!

Visit to the wet and cold country

So...first of all I knew this was going to be a fantastic trip because it started out like this:

Running into Michael Johns from American Idol at the Phoenix airport. I don't know where he was going but we had a nice awkward conversation and got this great picture out of it!
maybe you'll recognize him from this photo

The trip just got better from there! It was a very relaxing trip. We spent lots of time with family and lots of time just hanging out. Emmie got to meet her Coleman grandparents for the first time and she took to them like she had known them forever! She did spend one day cutting a molar...that was a cranky day...but other than that she had a great time! She LOVES her cousins!

Our first family outing was to Dave and Carrie's house in Olympia

The little girls giving Grampa Dance lessons

Grampa and the girls...They all just adore him!

Hallie (1 1/2) and I trying to tell Claire (3) to press the button

Hallie (1 1/2), Emma (5), and Claire (3) helping Emmie up onto the couch

The 2 Em's (Emma and Emmie) playing chase. Emma was such a sweet cousin to Emmie and was always making sure Emmie was happy and having fun.

The girls playing in the playroom

Hallie was so excited to see a baby smaller than her she kept rubbing Emmie on the head or back saying "she's a baby"

Matt and Claire Bear playing with the paper dolls

The next big family get together was at Mom and Dad Coleman's house. There were so many kids running around!

Danny, Emma, and Sierra chasing Emmie up the stairs

Emmie just sitting back and taking in all the activity around her

Lizzy, Carrie, Ame, Will, Matt and Emmie playing "Express yourself"

Matt his nephew, Andrew playing the Ocarina - a Chinese flute Mom and Dad Coleman brought back from Beijing for them

Emmie loved playing with Danny - every thing from chase to airplane...they were a pair to watch!

Emmie and her first instrument...the Kazu!

Hallie and Emmie playing Hungry Hippo with Matt

We had a wonderful time in Kent...it's always too short! Thanks mom and dad for the wonderful relaxing days in WA! Emmie loves you! (we do too!)
On Friday we woke up to snow! It was beautiful and a perfect close to our trip!
Emmie on the flight home...have kazu - will travel!
