Guilty Pleasure...

High School Musical!

What is not to love in this movie? Cheesy teen romances, simple life problems, and best of all...spontaneous musical outbreaks that are - oh so awesome! I can not help but grin from ear to ear when Troy looks at Gabriella while singing his "impromptu" song about how he need to be close to her and then their kiss is interrupted (almost always) by some rain or other students. And I can't help but laugh at all the jokes and puns...and all of the overdone cheesyness. I look over all of the unrealistic things that happen and chalk it all up to the beauty of tween movies. No where else would a teenage boy be able to drive an almost undriveable car across the country to bring his highschool sweetheart back from "early start" college so she could participate in the last musical of the year...or would a school give a spoiled child her own reserved parking spot and let her paint her lockers pink....Love it! I laughed...I cried...It was great! Go...watch...enjoy!

Reunited At Last

Last Saturday my Grandpa Corriveau passed away, just a few weeks short of his 89th birthday. Here's to you Grandpa! I'm sure you and grandma are up in heaven having a great time bowling! In my opinion, 24 years is too long to be away from your sweetheart. I'm grateful to know that they are reunited and am thankful to them for setting in motion the blessings of Eternal families for the rest of us by being first generation Latter-day Saints. Love you Grandpa!

Happy Birthday Emmie Grace!

Hey Birthday Girl!
This year has flown by. I can not believe that you are already one! You have grown and changed so much! Your daddy and I are constantly delighted by all your new discoveries and new skills you learn daily. We love to hear you laugh...and you do it often. You are a constant adventure. Right now you are babbling a lot! You've got the word "dadda" down pretty good and also what sounds like "tickle tickle". You love to wave bye-bye to all your family. You're not walking just yet, but you love to practice and you've braved a step or two! To get around you sport the ever popular knee walk and of course, crawl. You're favorite toy is the cell phone. You've called a lot of people and have spent a good amount of time running up Grandpa Corriveau's bill! (Only his Emmie Grace would be able to get away with that one!). I've been looking through all your pictures over the past year, feeling overwhelmed by how thankful I am to be your mother. You are a joy and delight. Your daddy and I thank Heavenly Father everyday for sending you to us. We love you! Happy Birthday little one!

Emmie , the Genius

Throughout my time teaching I've heard many a mama (or grandma or proud daddy) say that their preschool age child is "a genius". To there face I politely smile and encourage them but behind their backs - I laugh and roll my eyes (Especially when 70% of the time the child has their finger up their nose). Now it's my turn and I would like you to please laugh and roll your eyes at me (that's part of karma right...and I deserve it) but really....She's a genius!

Duck Hair

So I was wondering if she would get my hair (which my family lovingly referred to as my "duck hair stage") who knows if this was just a fluke...time will tell but we saw just an inkling of it the other day.

Play Date

Last Saturday Emmie and I invited Maelee and Kamarah over for a play date. Emmie watched Maelee and awed after her walking abilities...Maelee shared some Fruit Loops with Emmie...they both showed off some head standing skills...It was a good time - we'll definately have to do it again!
p.s. Thanks Kamarah for the spanish rice recipe - I made it the next day and it turned out great! We're definitely adding it to our dinner list!
