Jack Pickle

Emmie has taken it upon herself to name her unborn brother, Jack. One day on the drive to school I was trying to tell her that Mommy and Daddy may not end up naming him that and she got very sad so to try and cheer her up this is the conversation we had:

Me: Well, I don't know. Daddy and I like lots of names it's hard to choose.
Emmie: I stink (think) he should be Jack.
Me: We will keep it on the list, how 'bout that?
Emmie: Well, I will call him Jack forever and ever.
Me: Even if Daddy and I call him something else?
Emmie: yep.
Me: That might be weird.
Emmie: Nope, no it wont.
Me: Okay. Well, if you like Jack so much, have you thought about any nicknames? (Emmie loves nicknames)
Emmie: hummmmm....let me stink about it.

A minute goes by.........

Me: you got anything?
Emmie: I'm still stinking!!!!

Another minute..........

Me: anything?
Emmie: I think we should call him "Jack Pickle"
Me:perfect.

hahahahahahahhahahaaaaaa!

"i am in escrow"

i am in escrow! we are happy to announce that there is a 99% chance that we will be closing on our house oct. 16th! it all happened very fast. we started looking and within 5 days we found a house and the bank accepted the offer. we had our last saturday and all looks good...you know minor this and that but over all it was good! we are super thrilled! now we are just trying not to get scarred off by all the horror stories people keep telling us about how "so and so" lost there house last minute and blah blah blah. i guess there is a chance something will happen but i don't want to think about it. this house is perfect and in three weeks it will be ours... and if something does happen then it's out of our control. now to think of paint color and tile choices...

oh, and did i mention that matt totally knows the previous owners? small world. we saw their names on the tax records. funny, right?

and for your viewing enjoyment...i can't say of the word "escrow" without thinking of this: enjoy!

the escrow part of the clip is 45 seconds in...oh gilmore girls - how i miss you...

Snips and Snails...

snips and snails and puppy dog tails! looks like the men will soon be out numbering the ladies in the coleman household!

to commemorate the event we i planned a "gender reveal" party. who doesn't love a good party? cookies, cake, balloons, streamers, family, friends, what's not to love?

on the morning of the event we had our "big ultrasound". we told the ultrasound tech about the party and that we needed to know the sex but we didn't want to find out until the party. (so.much.fun) i gave the tech a small envelope and while we covered our eyes she took a good look at "the goods" and wrote on the small card and sealed it.  she was such a good sport. she also included a "proof" picture and little man was not shy. he is definitely a he. after the ultrasound i passed off the envelope to my sister who made the cake and did an amazing job at keeping it a secret all day! kudos to ceri!

now the question you ask is, "did you want a boy?" and really, what difference does it make what i want? you get what you get and you don't throw a fit! i not so secretly wanted a girl. a little mini me to dress up and ruffle. i had big plans on slapping a big and beautiful headband on her inevitably bald head from the first second she was born. emmie never played along with my dress up plans, i kind of wanted a second chance....i even had a name. oh well. not that i'm at all disappointed in getting a boy. boys make life easy. they are just not as fun to dress up. and i just keep thinking, "this just means one less wedding to pay for!"

yeah for a boy! and yeah for fun parties and friends to share the news with! i highly recommend the whole "gender reveal party" thing it was a little longer to wait and my sister did know the gender of my baby before me...but hey, it's my third...and i already have one of each...what's a few more hours?

It's my 10 year reunion this weekend....

Crazy how time flies, right? When I was in High School 10 years seemed like FOREVER away. Oh my, I would be 28! eek! SO OLD you know. HA! Well now that it's here I don't feel that old. I'm pretty amazed at how much I was able to accomplish in 10 years and am pretty happy with how everything has been turning out for me.  I've had some really awesome experiences and have met some really amazing people.  It makes me excited for the next 10!... Oh, and I don't think 28 is old any more. Please... I'm a spring chick!

Now for a good question. Am I going to my reunion? No. BUT it's not because I didn't make a good effort.  I really did. I was going to go to parts of it...dinner, football game, family picnic. But fate stepped in and other obligations pushed it to the back burner.  I'm pretty sure that whoever I'd like to get in touch with I can (and I seriously should). I'm a little bummed...but whatever. There is always Facebook!

And now to reminisce a bit...

Spring General Conference in Utah with these ladies

Junior Year Choir Tour with these Ladies

 Senior Year Choir Tour

 Summer Break with my BFF!

7 Brides for 7 Brothers...what year was that? Sophomore?

And how can I not share these gems? Enjoy!

9am at the beach

Why have we never thought to go to the beach in the morning before? It was perfect and hardly anyone was there...even on LABOR DAY. bizarre.

The boys splashed

Sand castles were built

Love birds canoodled

Happiness was had

...and pictures were taken

And that's the last we will see of the ocean until next year. sad. I miss it already.

We Love to See The Temple

Every time we are in San Diego we try to visit the Temple. The day couldn't have been more beautiful!

I am so grateful for temples and the promise of eternal families.
