Snug as a Bug

Both my children love a good swaddle! Something about the snugness of it all seems to calm them right away when they're feeling fussy and uncomfortable. (dang dairy allergy! this is a post all in it's self!). Matt is a master swaddler - he's perfected the art of it. It's a good thing too - swaddling has saved our sanity on many occasions. Oh my fussy children. Emmie was swaddled every night until she was at least 6 months and I wouldn't be surprised if Prime does the same. Emmie still enjoys a good swaddle every now and then...but mostly just for the fun of it!

Emmie Grace at 3 or 4 months

Prime busted through this one! ha!

I love how Prime is looking at his daddy in this picture...so sweet.

Emmie and Matt playing...she wanted to be swaddled just like Prime. After she was swaddled she would sand up and try and walk. Ha! She was waddling around just like a penguin.

4 years and counting

Today marks our 4th wedding anniversary. It's amazing just how much can change in four years. Four years ago Matt and I were both in school, we had no children, and staying up until 1 in the morning was something that was fun. In the past 1,461 days we have endured challenges and successes that have bought us stresses, and joys. No matter the circumstance, good or bad, the person standing next to me is the same. I love you sweetheart! Here's to the past 4 years. I love living life with you by my side to share it with!

2010 Operetta {The 3 Nanny Goats Gruff}

I Can't believe this is my 5th set of kindergarten graduates!
To commemorate the end of each school year, Adobe puts on an amazing show. The student's spend a great deal of time learning all the songs and enjoy dressing up. The main parts go to the kindergartners of each class, the younger students sing in the chorus. This year I had 6 main cast members. I've had a few of them for the full 3 year Montessori cycle. It's sad to see them go, but I'm excited for them also. They are more than prepared for 1st grade. I'm sure one day I'm going to read about one of these kids in the news, because they did something amazing, and I'll be able to say, "did you read about so-and-so? I taught her/him to read". Cool.

It was fun seeing all my students after being on maternity leave for so long. Only one more week before I'm back for good (it's been a very emotional week for me...and it's only Monday!).

Growing

I'm not quite sure what happened last night when we were all sleeping but when I put Prime down to sleep he was tiny and when he woke up he we big. Crazy how that happens. I can't believe It's already been 4 weeks! It's hard to imagine our home without this little man now. We love him so much!

It's Official!

Well, actually it was official a while ago (like in February - I'm just late)...But Matt is "officially" a Doctoral Candidate!

After a very busy year of rehearsals, concerts, recitals, board reviews, & exams, Matt decided to take another year to finish his dissertation - just too many things to squeeze into a year of work. This means one more year of paying tuition (lame). BUT on the upside it may work out to our benefit, since the job market it so limited right now, at least Matt can still get insurance from ASU! So, unless some miracle happens and a teaching job just happens to fall into our laps we will be sticking around Tempe for a while longer. So if anyone knows of any job openings (music or non-music related) let us know - Matt's on the hunt!

This picture was taken after Matt's last band concert! He's done! Yeah!
