3 weeks to go! CRAZY!!! We can't wait!!!!

QUESTION:
Which is NOT a game that is regularly played in China?

a) Rock, scissors, paper
b) One potato, two potato
c) Tiger, Stick, Chicken
d) Liar's dice

ANSWERS:
a) Wrong. This game is so popular that Chinese children play it with their feet as well as their hands. Guess again.

b) Correct, there is no game like this. There is a special feeling when you are deep in another's culture, and games are a good way to fit in. The similarities to many of your own country's games will help everybody see that we are closer than we sometimes want to admit. Have a good game!

c) This is that loud game where drunken people yell and shake their hands at each other in bars and restaurants. (No, not the game of dating, just Tiger, Stick, Chicken!) Go Tiger, it usually wins!

d) Shake, rattle and roll. This great game is what those leather dice cups were made for and it's all about bluffing - great fun. If you have to lie, it might as well be at the dice table, not in the boss's office.

Luau Refashion

Ceri and I got ambitious after reading from one of our favorite craft blogs, Made. She has some of the cutest shirt refashions! We committed ourselves to figure out how to do it and what better to start on than Hawaiian shirts (the way I see it....they can only get cuter right?)

It all started with a trip to DI were Ceri and I bought a few of these:Smelled like they used to belong to someone like him....(you know...sweaty old man smell....must with a hint of Old Spice)

After a few hours...and some seam ripping - we turned our smelly old DI shirts into these:
One for me

One for Emmie
Aloha!

Next on my wish list....A Serger!

Happy Easter!

I love Easter Sunday!
Emmie in her Easter dress....so cute!

In the Evening we had a wonderful Easter dinner at my folk's home. Emmie went on her first egg hunt. (I think it was more of a candy hunt for her....she could care less about the eggs and the basket!)
The Easter bunny came! (can you tell who's is Emmie?)
After dinner we watched a really wonderful video about the making of "Reflections of Christ". I was touched...it was beautiful. Here is a slide show off of YouTube. I'm so grateful for my Savior and the knowledge I have of his life and mission on earth. I know he lives.

QUESTION:
What does Bruce Lee's name mean in Chinese?

a) They call me Bruce
b) Rising Dragon
c) Little Dragon
d) Rising Force

ANSWERS:
a) So you saw that funny movie too, eh? Did you know there was a sequel? Try again.

b) No, but this is the name of another Kung-fu superstar - Jacky Chan.

c) You are correct, oh honorable one. The father of Jeet Kun Do and other martial arts was named Little Dragon by his opera-singing parents. Bruce was also a writer of several philosophy books and articles. This Little Dragon took the world by storm, single-handedly bringing the enjoyment and discipline of martial arts, and some its deepest secrets, to the West. Many believe that Bruce, and his important accomplishments, have brought East and West together more than any other person in history. Long live the Little Dragon!

d) Wrong, but maybe that is Chuck Norris' Chinese name, because of his cheesy movie, "Force of One."

QUESTION:
Which color is bad luck when used to write or sign a name in Asia?

a) White
b) Red
c) Blue
d) Black
e) Green

ANSWERS:
a) White on, but not right on. In fact, you're wrong. So I guess you need to white out this answer. Is white even a real color? Try again.
b) Correct. In ancient times the color red was reserved for the dead. The names of the deceased were written, painted, or engraved in red on gravestones and plaques in the village centers. Even today many traditional people will get nervous if you write their name down in red. To write a living person's name in red means they will die soon or you want them dead. Try this next time you write a letter to your ex-lover.
c) You're wrong, but don't feel too blue!
d) Are you having a total Blackout in your mind? Of course not black.
e) Don't be greedy. Money can't always buy the right answer. Try or buy again!
