to commemorate the event
on the morning of the event we had our "big ultrasound". we told the ultrasound tech about the party and that we needed to know the sex but we didn't want to find out until the party. (so.much.fun) i gave the tech a small envelope and while we covered our eyes she took a good look at "the goods" and wrote on the small card and sealed it. she was such a good sport. she also included a "proof" picture and little man was not shy. he is definitely a he. after the ultrasound i passed off the envelope to my sister who made the cake and did an amazing job at keeping it a secret all day! kudos to ceri!
now the question you ask is, "did you want a boy?" and really, what difference does it make what i want? you get what you get and you don't throw a fit! i not so secretly wanted a girl. a little mini me to dress up and ruffle. i had big plans on slapping a big and beautiful headband on her inevitably bald head from the first second she was born. emmie never played along with my dress up plans, i kind of wanted a second chance....i even had a name. oh well. not that i'm at all disappointed in getting a boy. boys make life easy. they are just not as fun to dress up. and i just keep thinking, "this just means one less wedding to pay for!"
yeah for a boy! and yeah for fun parties and friends to share the news with! i highly recommend the whole "gender reveal party" thing it was a little longer to wait and my sister did know the gender of my baby before me...but hey, it's my third...and i already have one of each...what's a few more hours?

Congrats!! I would have never thought of doing a party. I may have to talk Dustin into doing that with our next one.
How fun! What a great way to find out! I wish I had your patience. I don;t think I could have held off opening that envelope! Congrats!!!
