okay so it was nothing big...but there were flames. I was cooking some meat in a big stock pot and some water boiled over...usually this is no big deal but for some reason it ignited a fire and it wouldn't go out! Why we didn't think of smothering it with salt I don't know...logical thought just wasn't happening. Being an electrical stove/oven, we didn't know if water would be a good idea but eventually got out the squirt bottle and gave it a good spray. The big burner is pretty much done in and unusable. The thing that plugs into the electrical thingy (cool technical words) is charred and the two parts don't fit it eachother now. I'm afraid to cook on the other three now. Maybe we'll get a new oven out of the event...and I was just getting used to the 70's yellow and starting to actually grow fond of it.

Digital Scrapbooking...a new hobby
I've been wanting to scrapbook more for the longest time but between the cost of it and the huge amount of time it takes I kept putting it on the back burner. Well Ceri and I recently discovered the beauty and ease of Digital scrapbooking. It's taken us a little bit to figure out photoshop...but once we did the sky's the limit! Here are some pages I did over winter break:

a little house cleaning...
I took so many pictures over winter break! I wanted to blog about each of them but now there's not time...so I just made a slide show out of some of the pictures. Some of the pictures are from New Years with the Bennett family, Dinner with my good friend Amy Gray and her husband, Nathan, and My cousin, Chris Tenney's wedding reception. While we were in Saint David for the reception we stopped and saw Kartchner Caverns. All in all it was a great Winter break filled with fun family outings.

Three Months and Teething
On MondayEmmie hits the 3 month mark and she's already teething!!! I was in denial for a little bit and didn't want to believe that all the drooling and fist chewing was because she was teething...but today I saw them...two little teeth buds on the bottom middle. They haven't broken through yet but it's just a matter of days. My little girl is growing up way too quick! Every day she surprises us!

Matt's Winter Project
I love that I married a man who loves to build things....I also love that I married a drummer - It just sounds cool to say "yeah, my husbands a drummer..." He does more than just play the drum set - he does everything percussion. For example...his winter project was to build a stand for these Chinese Toms that he's playing for his spring doctorate recital. It's pretty awesome. Around 30 hours and 3 trips to The Home Depot later the stand is finally built - all he needs to do is paint it now. Yeah for Matt and Yeah for only 3 more semesters to a doctorate degree!

New Years
For New Years Ceri and John invited the family over for Spinach & Kale and Black-eyed peas, a Gough tradition. The spinach & kale symbolizes "good fortune" and I think the peas symbolize health...I could be wrong. This meal was surprisingly yummy... I even went back for seconds! Emmie found a peek-a- boo buddy with cousin Dana (the video is really dark...sorry)
Later that night we played the game "Pit" SO MUCH FUN! Take a look!
They worked out all the problems for the next round. Doesn't my family remind you of the seagulls in "Finding Nemo"? but instead of saying "mine, mine, mine..." they say "two, two, two...."
