Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
Working backwards...this is the fun that we had this weekend!
Monday:
So you know, when Matt and I have loads and loads of money I'll be buying this house...and then hiring a decorator to make it look like this!
What is Memorial day without some BBQ?
Me: Dana, say "cheese!"
Dana: "What?"
Me: Say "cheese!"
Dana: Why? I'm not with anyone!
CLICK!
Me: oh this is sooo going on the blog
Dana: Better not!
Me: Too late!
(Love you Dana!)
Cute girl
What's cookin' good lookin'!
The girls got personality that's for sure!
Worked off the BBQ with a friendly game of 2 on 2...then realized how bad we all were and switched to Kickball...The boys whooped us!
Since no one had any school or work on Monday we had a sleep over at Mom & Dad Corriveau's house...the boys convinced us to watch Star Wars...Ceri and I have probably watched Star Wars a total of 5 times in our whole lives and I can't remember staying a wake the whole time for any of them...Sunday night was no exception... Sci-fi just doesn't do anything for me! But the boys enjoyed it and where thankful we didn't make them sit through some chick flick!
Saturday:
Not much happened on Saturday... Matt and I were finally able to get to the Temple for a session. It was awesome! I love the spirit I feel in the Temple!
Friday Night:
When Emmie Met Gracie...
Russ and Debbie and their 2 kids came over for a game night with the Corriveau clan. We were suppose to play games but then got carried away talking and didn't even get to the game part...Next time! Russ and I played Referee to Emmie and Gracie who were climbing all over each other. It was pretty cute how fascinated they were with one another! (p.s. Emmie is HUGE! Gracie is 2 1/2 months older than Emmie and they are the same size! Gracie's such a petite little thing! So cute!)

Our Happy Emmie
This girl is completely mobile... she goes where she wants - when she wants...(mommy and daddy permitting, of course!)
Matt and Emmie's practice time. Emmie loves to stand and bounce in her crib while daddy practices...it's so cute!

A Proud Montessori Teacher Moment....
Today I had such a sweet moment with one of my students...This little guy had been working on this map for a few days now and was getting to the end... He traced all of the states by himself, painted them the "Montessori specific colors", cut out all the labels and matched and glued them....it was a really big, time consuming project! Then when he was almost done he was double checking his work and noticed that Kentucky was missing...he looked and looked and then finally got out some white paper and wrote it for himself cut it out and glued it on. He came over to get me to show me all of his hard work and then he says, " I worked so hard Mrs. Coleman...but I did it all by my self...that felt good!" I just wanted to cry...because that's what Montessori is all about - helping the children do it themselves. At the beginning of the school year...even three months ago - he would not have had the self confidence and discipline to accomplish what he did. These are the moments that help me through the rough wild days...in the end all of the hard work pays off!

Emmie's Stats...
I forgot to add this on the last post!
As of April 15, 2008:
(the percents tell us where Emmie ranks with the rest of the children her age...so 50% is average...I'm sure you all already knew that...but just in case!)
Weight: 15lbs 10oz (40th%)
Height: 26.8 inches (80th%)
Head circumference: 16.5 inches (30th%)
So basically all of this means that she's growing great and that as of right now she's on her way to being just like her daddy...tall and skinny...lucky girl!
