Christmas 2008

I always kick myself for not taking more pictures...or at least not taking more worth while pictures...my bad...In any case here is our Corriveau Christmas Eve 2008
Ceri and Dana making snickerdoodles....they were the best snickerdoodles I've ever tasted! Great job ladies!Dana and Emmie (doesn't Emmie look like a little gift in that dress?)Matt and his Martinellies (sp?) There are a series of pictures...he gets a kick out of himself : )
(remember...this is just sparkling cider...no worries...)
Our Christmas Eve jammies....Ceri picked them out this year. My favorite are Emmie'sHer silky bottoms kept falling down - haha!

Christmas Morning
We all spent the night at Mom and Dad Corriveau's and were able to get up together...
...of course I don't have my camera out for gifts....sorry....

At John and Ceri's house Santa brought them a wii. They shared with us!John and Matt cooking Christmas breakfast for us. YUM!

I went kina homemade this year...here are a few things I made...Ceri's purse and scabble tile necklaces (this shot is for you Aunt Claudia ;)
Other Christmas happenings:

Emmie feeding herself with her fork (those weren't all of her eggs...we were sharing)

Just in the nick of time I caught Emmie knee walking Christmas morning....by the afternoon she was walking...full on walking... Yeah Emmie!! (she's been taking a few steps here and there for the past 2 months but knee walking was always faster for her - this girl is all about efficiency!)

And most importantly...never forgetting the true meaning of Christmas, we are thankful for the time to be together as a family and reflect on our Savior and the blessing of his birth.

Happy Christmas to Me!

Since I've been married Ceri and others in the family have been at me to finish cleaning out my old bedroom at my parents house. Right before the wedding day I packed up everything that I used regularly and then left all the sentimental stuff that I had saved up for 22 years knowing that my parents weren't going anywhere and I could deal with that later. About 6 months after I was married I went back and boxed my tea cup and doll collection, journals and other sentimental things and placed them nicely in the closet (Ceri will deny that I did this) and then thought that I was good to go. Well my parents finally have decided that they want to make the room into a nice guest/craft room so I need to do some more cleaning...

...well it had been a long time since I had last been in there and come to find out I didn't clean out my dresser and laundry hamper....some might be thinking "Elyse...that's gross"...but there were no dirty clothes to be found (I used to hide clothes that I wished I could fit into at the bottom of my laundry hamper...you know out of sight out of mind...waiting for that one day when they would finally fit) So as I'm going through...what do I pull out???? A pair of Jeans. Beautiful...small...never been worn jeans...GLORIOUS! (a friend had bought me these jeans when I was in college and I didn't have the self-esteem to tell her that my thighs and rear were to big to fit into them...so what did I do? I thanked her - reimbursed her - then put them in my hamper) So I look at them and somewhat skeptical of myself I go and put them on and what did I find???? THEY FIT!!! not only did they just fit...they fit good! immediately I started singing the "I'm too sexy song" and ran out to show everyone.

Now I wish I could find the lady that pulled Matt aside at our wedding reception to tell him that he'd better enjoy me skinny now because after that day I would never look the same (sad I know...Matt waited 2 years to tell me this...smart man...I would have cried on my wedding day..

So Happy Christmas to me!

Tradition

One of my favorite traditions each Christmas is getting a new ornament for the Christmas tree. My parents started this tradition in the first few years of there marriage and have kept it ever since. They give one ornament to each member of their family. So this means when I got married I already had a tin full of traditional ornament I had collected plus a few that had been gifts from friends and students throughout the years. It's pretty awesome.

This year my dad decided it would be nice to make an evening out of our tradition and make our ornaments. We put tiny colored beads into these metal frames then baked them so they turn out like stained glass - totally rad and crafty...love it! We had a good time.

Don't bump the table!Intense concentration!

Emmie enjoyed a nice bath with Grammy while we were busy concentrating!

The Coleman families 2008 ornaments...ta-da!
Can you guess which one belongs to who? (hint: Matt made 2 - Emmie and I just have 1)

Just sitting around....Waiting....

Sometimes I get up early on Saturday to go walking with my dad...today he's late so I'm sitting in a quiet apartment blog surfing...I found this and thought I'd share - very cute!

What Your Height Says About You

You are a warm, outgoing person. You are a very social creature.

You value harmony, and you often play the role of mediator.

You are a very real and honest person. You know how to kindly tell people the truth.

You crave love and approval. Luckily, you are a very easy person to love.

Cramming

Students aren't the only ones cramming this time of year.... our mail man was doing his fair share too...

so okay...my bad...I didn't check my mail for a day or two... but really was this necessary? Not only did he pack it full...then he stopped delivering for a few days so we need to go get our mail at the post office (which apparently the post office doesn't know anything about). So we have three days worth of mail that is floating around somewhere...hope there's nothing important in there! I thought this was picture worthy...
All the mail I pulled out...

My poor Christmas cards....I've tried to smooth them down a bit...They look better now! (Michelle...your cards turned out great! I'm so glad you're a blogger now! Jen (sis. dille)...I don't know if you blog...but if you do your Christmas letters are always so cool)

Craft night was awesome! We had a blast and the boards turned out great! I haven't embellished my board yet...I'm still thinking of ideas! A big thank you to Jen for the idea and e-mailing me the how-to!

p.s. Ceri took all the good pictures of the night on her camera so if you want to see more head on over to her site here

Thanksgiving...Disney Style

oh man was that dinner good!
we ate...and ate...and ate...
Emmie cried...and then she slept...
The first thing we did was Space Mountain...awesome!
Space Mountain...You Rock!Emmie's favorite part of Thanksgiving day...and probably all of Disneyland - The Parade!

The new Midway Mania ride - totally worth the non fast pass wait! We had to go a few times to get our technique down....Matt whooped me ever time....
That's Hot!
again...Hot!

Dumbo...a classic!
Emmie loved the up and down stick....until the ride started...then she just sat back and took it all in!
I've always loved the Tea Cups! Emmie and I practiced in our office chair spinning and spinning for weeks leading up to our trip...she loved it...not at first but by the end she did!
I just had to add the picture....I think it's hilarious...p.s. the reason why she's crying is a long story...the short of it being that she's a mamma's girl and mom pealed her off her hip for 2 seconds to take a picture...poor baby....
It only takes about a minute to get over it...all better
Mommy and EmmieI love this picture....Isn't Matt hot?!!
Reminiscing.... 3 years ago at Disneyland Matt and I pretty much decided we were the real deal and would be getting engaged soon...we took this picture...

Just for kicks Dana took another one for us...we didn't think about it until night time so there is that huge flash...but whatever...it was fun to reminise....it's amazing what can happened in 3 short years - We have a lot to be thankful for!
p.s. Matt and I have decided that since our trip 3 years ago our style has improved by about 5%...not bad right? hahaha
man our hair was bad...yikes!
